Memorial Day weekend has a reputation for being cold
and rainy as it’s usually the opening weekend for
summer camping. Memorial Day weekend of 2007 was a
different story. Three couples took off from Rapid
City and headed for Beulah, Wyoming. Loaded down
with everything from barbeque grills to bacon
wrapped jalapenos and of course…the beer. The items
missing from our list were usually the most
important things when planning a camping trip – the
tents, sleeping bags and lawn chairs. When we
pulled into the campground we were met by such
friendly hosts – especially Katered Kamping’s Jack
Floyd – and we were escorted to the shadiest corner
of the area. There were our tents, all set up with
air mattresses and sleeping bags. Very soon, Jack
brought the truck around and handed out as many lawn
chairs as we wanted. So, with all the work out of
the way, we proceeded to set up our games and opened
a cold beer. It was a sunny, warm weekend and we
were treated extremely well by all the staff. There
was music most of the day and food was available to
those who chose not to bring their own, or those who
thought it just smelled so darn good they couldn’t
pass it up. Too much fun was had by all and the last
thing you want to do on Monday morning is take down
a tent and roll up sleeping bags. Much to our
delight we didn’t have to do any of those things.
We just packed up what we brought, minus the beer
and food of course, and left everything else there.
It was our first experience with Katered Kamping and
one we will always remember. The price we paid for
the weekend was minimal, especially when you
consider the convenience of not having to hassle
with a tent. I truly believe we would all do it
again in an instant.

What a wonderful, carefree
camping experience I had at the Sugar Pine Ranch
Rally
near Durango, Colorado over Labor Day Weekend! The
ride was 420 miles each way
from Phoenix. I can't count the runs I've made
having to pack all my gear. It never
goes back on the bike as well for the ride home.
After reading a post on the rally
website, I contacted Katered Kamping and decided to
give them a shot. What a treat
to ride up without the extra weight and hassles of
gear strapped on the bike. Upon
arrival at the rally, I found Jack Floyd setting up
tents. He asked me where I wanted
my camp, and before I knew it, I had a four-man
tent, two extra large sleeping bags,
king sized air bed, two chairs, a drink cooler, and
rug outside the door, all prepared
and ready to go. Several times a day, for all five
days I was there, Jack came by to
see if there was anything I needed. He even brought
me back some adult beverages
from town, plus offered a coffee run every morning.
Talk about full service! Best of all,
when it was finally time to head home, I simply said
goodbye and rode off, leaving
Jack and his crew to tear down camp and haul it off.
You can be certain; I'll be utilizing
Katered Kamping's service again if they're attending
any rallies I head to!
