Dan Wiseman
Greetings to all.
My name is Jack Floyd and one of the businesses I operate is “KATERED KAMPING”. This is a business I started developing back in 2004, with the intent of providing camping service and gear with a personal touch for the motorcycle enthusiast. On November 21st, 2009 “Katered Kamping” will be hosting a Charity Event with a Poker Ride, and we would love to have you attend this memorial party.
The recipients of this benefit will be two girls by the name of Danielle and Charlene Wiseman-ages 8 & 6 respectively. These two young girls are the daughters of Danny and Lori Wiseman of Scottsdale, AZ.
Approximately 10 years ago, I met Danny and Lori Wiseman-whom were both avid motorcycle enthusiasts. They were no doubt-two of the best people a person would ever want to meet. To make a long story short-Danny & Lori were one of the many Rally participants that make the annual trek to Sturgis, SD-an area I am familiar with as having lived in the Black Hills for several years. Because of my familiarity and connections to the Black Hills of SD, I volunteered to pack all of their gear (along with a few of our other friends from AZ) in order to lighten their load, reduce the amount of work and stress generally associated with long-haul bike trips. All my friends had to do is Ride In-Party like a Rock Star-then, Ride Out. No Work-No Stress-No Hassles-as I would take care of all set-up and tear-down of camp gear! Needless to say, my buddies all enjoyed the benefits of my labor, even going as far as suggesting “You do such a good job, you should make a business out of it”. Hence, the origination of “Katered Kamping”-Where You Provide the Body and We Provide the Party! It does however sadden me to know that my dear friends-Danny and Lori Wiseman were not around to witness their words become reality.
Lori Wiseman died in October 7, 2006, leaving her husband-Danny to raise their two little girls-which were at that time ages 3 (Danielle) and 5 (Charlene). Danny did a fantastic job of raising their daughters until September 1st, 2008. I still remember Danny’s words of reasoning-regarding the need for him and his wife Lori to ride separate bikes. Should their fate happen upon an accident while riding-the chance that one of the two would still survive to raise their daughters-would be greatly increased. His prophetic words still haunt me to this day!!
In August 2008, Danny’s 2000-teal colored Fat Boy was stolen from his driveway in Scottsdale, AZ. Danny’s response to his bad fortune was, “I guess they must have needed my bike more than I did”. After the loss of his bike, Danny decided to purchase another motorcycle-as he could not go without riding-being the “die-hard” rider he was. While riding on his new “scoot” on the morning of September 1st, 2008, on I-17, Danny’s rear tire blew-out killing Danny and his passenger Brenda (whom was Danny and Lori’s best friend from Chicago, IL.)
On Danny and Lori’s behalf, I am sharing their story. For anyone whom loves to ride, or to anyone whom has loved and lost-you can only begin to imagine the heartache and loss their two daughters (as well as their surviving immediate family members) have experienced.
This is where I am sending out the invite-or challenge to “rise to the occasion” and participate in a good and worthy cause-the Danny and Lori Wiseman memorial ride-scheduled for the 21st of November, 2009 at Fort McDowell Mountain Park (between Rio Verde and Fountain Hills, AZ). The following is the schedule slated for this one-of-a-kind memorial ride.
